San Diego Wild Animal Park
This park is part of the San Diego Zoo, but is actually located some 30 miles northeast of San Diego, east of Escondido. Our first adventure when coming in the park was to go on a photo caravan through the park.
We learned that although the rhinoceros could kill you with just a toss of it’s 400 pound head, they are generally fairly docile animals. This one decided to stop the truck for a bit by standing in the road.

One of the great parts of this trip was the opportunity to feed the giraffes.

Every time we saw this lion, he was sleeping on the top of this Land Rover.

A couple of cheetahs waiting for dinner.

These okapi have photogenic rear ends.
