Looks like we may get our first good weekend of the year this weekend. Of course, some people get Monday off (President’s Day) for a three-day weekend. As a result, when we started checking to find a place to camp for the weekend, most of the prime state parks are already booked full.
We wanted to go to Fort Worden State Park in Port Townsend, but the beach front campground filled up yesterday. They had one spot left in the upper campground this morning, but that wasn’t what we wanted.
So I called the Hudson Point Marina and Resort, also in Port Townsend, and they had one fairly nice spot left. We will have a view of the water.
So the message here, if the weather is going to be nice on a holiday weekend, particularly when the weather has been as nasty as we’ve had this winter, get your reservations in early.
